A popular menu item at parties and buffets, the devilled egg is a cold dish, usually an appetiser. Eggs are boiled and halved, with the yolks mashed and seasoned. A classic recipe would have the yolks mixed with mustard, mayonnaise, and a sprinkling of paprika.
